Things Happening At Trinity

The following is from our Education Committee. There are lots of exciting ways to be involved at Trinity this Fall! Please join us for the fun, fellowship and service!  Blessings, Trinity UMC

It's Happening at Trinity!!

The Education Committee met Sunday evening and several exciting activities are in the process!!

HANDBELLS!! Anna Swope, with the help of Mitzi Turner and others will organize a Handbell Choir this fall for students ages 8 to l5!!! \ This is an EXCITING endeavor! ! !! Please let the church office know if you are interested!!

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM!! Emily Smith, with the help of Laura Presley and Sarah Haye will begin practice for the Christmas program in mid October. Practice will be every Wednesday evening and dinner will be served each week.

LENDING TABLE An "On Your Honor" book lending table is being organized for the
main hallway. Books will be placed on the table with directions that they may be borrowed, read and returned f()r others to enjoy. There will be no check out - just borrow, read and return. If you have books that you no longer want, please share them. It is our hope that we can not only share to save expenses but to encourage others to read - in addition to clearing some of our book shelves! ! !
Jessica Thompson and Mary Alice Kaufman will organize the table but will need some volunteer help. You will hear more about this soon!!

SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP We were asked last year to be a Partner to Memorial School.
Rev. Susan is on their Local School Improvement Council. Several of our members helped with a reading and science activity and you can see those pictures on the bulletin board in the hallway. We expect to be more active this year and will be asking for volunteers. Circle 1 purchased "Birthday Ribbons" to be presented to each child on his/her birthday. This means every child's birthday is a day of celebration and recognition. We will also give a little birthday recognition party each month for those celebrating that particular month. The important thing is-each child will be recognized and feel special! A READ ALOUD is being organized too and we hope you will agree to read to a classroom.
Remember "IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RAISE A CHILD!"

NURSERY VOLUNTEERS   We also need adult volunteers to help in our nursery each Sunday and on special occasions. Please volunteer with Mary Alice or Mindy.

TRINITY BUS MINISTRY   We need volunteers to ride the bus and again organize the bus ministry. If you are willing to ride the bus for monitoring purposes or to drive, please let the Pastor know.

We have discussed the possibility of starting a "Medical Closet" to lend to; persons who might need some help with equipment. Crutches, toilet stools, walkers, canes etc. are needed. If you have some of this equipment stored away and would like to help with the "Closet" let the Church know and arrangements will be made to pick it up.

 Christmas Program

We are excited to announce that a Christmas program is being organized for the children of our church!  Children pre-K - 6th grade are invited to participate in the program.  The program will feature Bible School style Christmas songs with small speaking parts.  We are still finalizing plans, but hope to begin practice on Wednesdays from 6:15 - 7:30 beginning in the middle of October with dinner being served as well.  Growing up at Trinity the Christmas program was a highlight during the year, and we would like to provide a new generation the opportunity to participate in an exciting and inspiring program of their very own!  If you are interested in having a child/children participate, please call 304-910-1726(Emily) for more information.  We hope to have lots of children join us!
